Föreningen är en sektion inom Svenska Läkaresällskapet (SLS) samt Sveriges Läkarförbund (SLF). SFNM är också en del av Scandinavian Society of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine (SSCPNM).
Member of European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), World Federation of Nuclear Medicine and Biology (WFNMB) and European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
